I later checked her finish time and saw that she took first in our age group, so clearly it didn’t slow her down that much." This made me laugh because homegirl passed me at mile 11 of the run for the win. At the awards ceremony, I attempted to congratulate her for a great race, but was rebuffed my her many excuses as to why she hadn't raced faster.
